Manufactured by Prometheus / LayLax, the set contains 25 precision shims in five different thicknesses, allowing an Airsoft technician to fine-tune gear spacing to achieve smooth rotation, correct gear engagement and appropriate clearance within the gearbox.
Five Shim Thicknesses
The set includes five different shim sizes, providing plenty of adjustment combinations for accurately positioning the bevel, spur and sector gears:
0.10mm – 5 shims
0.15mm – 5 shims
0.20mm – 5 shims
0.30mm – 5 shims
0.50mm – 5 shims
That's a total of 25 gearbox shims, allowing individual thicknesses to be used or combined to achieve the required spacing.
3.1mm Inner / 5.8mm Outer Diameter
Each shim has an inner diameter of 3.1mm and an outer diameter of 5.8mm.
The compact 5.8mm outside diameter is specifically designed to avoid unwanted contact with the flange of compatible ball bearings, making the set particularly useful when setting up AEG gearboxes fitted with bearing systems.
